So, you can take your PvP chars to Comp Missions. How come they are still empty?
Seriously, its ultra sad, I see lots of people idling at Temple of Balthazar and when I tell them to go play to Fort Aspenwood, most of them say "You cant take your PvP chars"
What the hell? There are 2 diplomats there and yet people dont see to notice them/use them, and the sad thing persists, those 2 missions are still empty.
Should Arenanet make the diplomats more noticable and give greater rewards to people play there? Seriously, it seems to give alot of Balth faction and Kurzick/Luxon faction.
Why arent the players motivated to play there?

I hate the fact that no one plays Jade Quarry.
I need to map that area too.

Just looked and I see what you mean. I've found that a lot of PvP focused players say that Fort Aspenwood and what not are more of a PvE thing and they don't want to do that. Even though it's PvP.

Thats the problem... No one knows!
But you can! Go to the Great Temple of Balthazar and talk with the Kurzick Recruit or with the Luxon Diplomat.
I think that is the problem, most people dont know, I think we must spread the word.

The competition sucks. Do it a few times and the novelty wears out. There are faster ways to gain Luxon and Kurzick faction. Perhaps if you could enter with organized teams it would be played more.

Once the infamous Kurzick faction farming patrol run gets gooned........
Maybe HZH will have a different owner?! O_O
Seriously, I was a temp leader of one of the guilds that had HZH for a LONG TIME (GoD). The FF was I-N-S-A-N-E. One guild had 5m faction on their OWN, which was like a QUARTER or MORE of the overall faction. This is why Aspenwood/Quarry had no action, well one of the reasons. The other reason was is the fact it's too easy to AFK farm there.
All anet needs to do is add a money reward like Amatz and such, and find a way to deal with the afkers. Viola, we have a winrar.
oh yeah, I prefer the idea of random teams, it allows newbies to get into the whole luxon/kurzick thing easier, as well as pvp.

The level of competition in those areas is absolutely non-existent. It's like RA with a more focuses goal, but the random nature still keeps it from feeling like more than pushing buttons. Not to mention that those areas, much like RA, are still infested with idiot stance tanks, scrub touchers and weird hybrid heal/smite monks that don't really do much either way.
Those missions simply aren't fun for anyone who plays any aspect of pvp aside from RA; they just feel like they were intended for pve players for some reason.

You answered your own question right there. The time invested to reward ratio of those places is very bad, hence it doesn't really make sense to go there.
Make the rewards in those places equivalent to the rewards in AB, and you'd see them both fill up mighty fast.

Hmm, I play mostly with PvP chars and did not know it was made accesible permanently.
I dont know much about those modes, but main question is - can you make your whole team there, or is it random like RA/AB ?
From what I hear here it seems to be random, then yes, dont expect PvP population there. But if you can make teams, I would prob. make a look there.
I will check it out though. I missed that event and never made PvE char that far (Cantha seems so boring comparing to Prophecies), that is why I know almost nothing about it :-)

Yup, the problem here is that not all people know they can do Fort or Jade with PvP chars.
I play Fort quite often with my pve chars, and I always wish I can bring my pvp char there to play different builds and professions.
Just know about it after reading this thread. I'm going to create PvP char for it now

Honestly the crowd of horny teenagers hanging out at Balth's Isle have never impressed me with their intelligence, so it doesn't surprise me they didn't notice two NPCs. They're all too busy dancing naked and talking about how great their gfs are, while hitting on the one naked "female" dancing amongst them.

Fort Aspenwood is relatively crowded; on the other hand, Jade Quarry is completely empty. I use to play FA a lot, but I got sick of it..
I guess everybody started playing ABs for faction.. you get more for a victory, it's more competitive, and more focused towards PvP than FA or JQ.

Since Jade Quarry has had a Successful FAILIER, I saw turn it into a PvE place(Like tombs) Or something, I pvpd there twice, only twice. I guess no one likes chasing Giants turtles and 55 necros around.

If I played serious PvP I wouldn't want to do Aspenwood either. Parties in Aspendwood and JQ are randomly compiled, this is probably one of things that the people in GToB don't find appealing as it doesn't allow for organized builds and such.

An arena will be empty because it is empty. Circular reasoning works in this case.

Jade Quarry was empty before that weekend, pretty much empty during that weekend, and empty after that weekend. It might as well not even exist in the game >_> 90% of the games have atleast 2 Leechers per team, the time to faction reward is horrible, and its just NOT FUN for most people. Doesn't matter if PvPs know they can go there or not.

Poor rewards, both from an actual reward standpoint(PvE reward, and a lame one at that), and from a proportion standpoint(Compared to ABs for the PvE reward).
Ok, so there's Balthazar faction you get too. Too bad it's so minimal that anyone who wants this reward wouldn't be playing there. Then there's the fact that most PvPers have grinded out PvEs so they can compete, and that they've probably already unlocked everything worth ever unlocking, making getting that faction mostly pointless, and therefore a non-issue. So, basicly this so-called reward either discourages play, or isn't a factor in encouraging or discouraging play.
That, and random teams. Random teams just suck.
PvP charactars might get *some* PvPers to play there, but only *very* casual ones. That doesn't really help much with players, because it's not like they could just do Random Arenas and get more faction for unlocks, or that the guy who plays for maybe an hour once a week is going to make them fill up. They also get people who already played there once in a blue moon to play somthing that they don't have a PvE charactar for there. That doesn't help getting more people to play.
Will ANET ever fix the rewards? Dbout it. How many months did it take them just to realise that the areas weren't accessable by PvP charactars?

I found quarry much more fun than Aspenwood, by far. Aspenwood has to be one of the most boring forms of PvP... the stupidity of RA x base defence... whee...

I never attempted to play either of these from the negative feedback I heard. I thought they were PvE competitions like amatz basin, and heard they were riddled with afk'ers.
Yesterday I was killing time working on the cantha exploration title, and did fort aspenwood to clear some fog, and actually thought it looked pretty fun. I've been playing it a bunch the last few days and actually enjoy the way the game is setup and plays out. Not like I care about the rewards, I'm UAX with 15k kurzick & luxon armor already.
However, as others have mentioned, the random teammates and lack of decent competition just kill it. If there was a TA equivalent to it's RA, I'd get some guildies together and compete there.
